Family-run Zencontrol is very proud to have been announced as winners of the ‘Electrical Review Excellence Award for Lighting’ and the ‘Electrical Review Excellence Award for Project of the Year’, at the Awards dinner at The Dorchester Hotel in London on 24 May 2018.
“From our point of view it was great to see a controls company picking up the lighting award as lighting control is often overlooked in these categories,” says Zencontrol’s Jess Hart.
The company submitted Project Beagle, also known as Ingenuity House, as this was the first major DALI 2 system in the UK. The judges were so impressed with the system and its integration into Project Beagle they also awarded Zencontrol the prestigious overall award for ‘Project of the Year’.
“A big thank you goes out to our team at Zencontrol as always.”
Project Beagle – or Ingenuity House, as it is named by its owner and Billington’s client, Interserve – is a 5-storey, 12,000 sq m, highly sustainable, office building located next to Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham International Railway Station.
The new build offices are a key element of ‘UK Central’, the region’s regeneration strategy, which will eventually benefit from being connected to high speed railway network HS2. The energy efficient building will bring together circa 1,200 Interserve and RMD Kwikform staff who are currently spread across five separate regional offices.
