The products iGuzzini hope will drive them forward in 2018 have been winning plaudits before they even hit the market.

Their Lander direct light luminaire is now on general having already achieved a Red Dot Product Design award last year.

The Walky collection was only launched this year but has already landed a Design Plus accolade, which was also awarded to iGuzzini’s Laser Blade XS.

Design quality, choice of materials, usability, energy efficiency, sustainability, durability, innovation, technical quality and integrative ability were the key themes established.

iGuzzini will now show off these award-winning products in a dedicated area at the popular annual Light and Building fair, held at the Messe Frankfurt in Germany from March 18-23.

The reaction on this industry platform could definite the company’s strategy going forward and much is expected from the Lander, Walky and new Laser Blade XS ranges.

Since 1959, iGuzzini have been committed to social innovation through lighting and they are proving it doesn’t need to be bigger to be better.

The Lander was originally designed as a custom bollard to light up the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Park in Athens, Greece, which opened in 2016.

Its stands out for a specific type of light emission and the range includes an applique version for a direct or indirect beam.

It can be concentrated on paths and walkways, using either a street of asymmetric optic, with the same luminous flux of up to 2,220 lumen at the source.

Its vertical lighting options are second to none, with the wall washer version aligned to the body of the product.

The product also has a two height option to take steps into account and is robust enough to be deemed vandal resistant, after meeting anti-vandalism criteria.

The Walky collection of miniaturised, round, square and rectangular devices, starting from just 45mm in height with luminous flux from 270 to 1,800 lumen, have also been recognised.

Miniaturisation does not comprise performance and flush and surface Walky systems are available, with DALI dimming options for flush-mount versions.

A new optic used in the device distributes light horizontally, from the base of the wall where the product is installed.

It gives off a precise beam along a surface with pure, flush and shadow free cones near the wall, which catch the eye in both architectural and urban environments.

The original laser blade XS was iGuzzini’s success story of 2017, coming to market with some of the smallest technology ever used.

The product uses nanotechnology and an LED so small it’s almost invisible, all captured in just 28mm.

Its ‘trick of light’ can cut through ceilings and disappear into grooves just 28mm wide to create an impression that the architecture is illuminating itself.

iGuzzini considered the technicians who work with the Laser Blade XS as akin to master watchmakers, particularly when adapting the product to create a lighting solution for clients.

The company have patented the technologies used, such as the Opti Beam reflectors and the wall washer optic. In the Laser Blade XS, they are the smallest of their kind.

Tunable white light goes from 2700K to 5700k with colour temperatures of 2,700K, 3,000K and 4,000K, it’s lumen range from 160 to 2,310.

High contrast pendant, low voltage track, ceiling mounted, square and general lighting pro are now available in iGuzzini’s product range for 2018.

iGuzzini have also extended their collection of Palco floodlights and framers for indoor and outdoor applications with their ‘In Out’ additions.

The latest floodlights come in six different diameters, starting at just 30mm, with luminous flux of up to 8,000 lumen.

They boast innovative Opti Beam technologies with a wide selection of optics from spot cones to medium, flood and 80 degree wide flood.

Flux levels can be adjusted to suit ambient temperatures from 230 to 6,200 lumen, with a choice of three high chromatic quality colour schemes available.
