Harvard Technology proved to the UK’s greenest company how they can contribute to energy savings through the latest technologies.
The company are based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, but are a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of power and control products for the lighting industry.
Harvard have sales representation across Europe and the United States, along with distribution sites in the Middle East and Australia.
They are determined to be at the forefront of LED developments, as conventional lighting becomes increasingly phased out.
LED is fast moving and game changing technology within the lighting industry, as a genuine equivalent to traditional light sources.
The power they are capable of is comparable to 50 Watt Halogen and even 35 Watt Metal Halide bulbs and is getting stronger all of the time.
Such systems can mean huge savings, in comparison, and switching to low energy bulbs is an easy way to reduce carbon emissions.
The benefits of LEDs can be reduced, though, if the components within its fixture are not specified for an equally long lifespan.
Selecting the wrong LED solution can lead to problems and Harvard, who have published a white paper on the issue, are determined that won’t happen to their customers.
A good example of Havard’s productivity is for Skanska, with buildings they oversee were installed with 105 lighting points wirelessly through the company’s EyeNut system.
EyeNut accurately reports energy consumption and carbon emissions data through its Graphic User Interface, while controlling multiple sites from one central access point.
It has a retrofit process for building spaces that are already up and running and can ‘split’ those areas, should new tenants take over offices. New features are updated automatically.
Skanska can now monitor their lighting fixtures from anywhere using a computer, laptop, tablet and-or smartphone and can control each point independently.
Real-time data reports on kWh usage and carbon output are provided every 15 minutes. Third party sensors and switches are compatible with EyeNut.
