ACDC have been at the forefront of these technologies since 2001, when they were approached by Lumileds Lighting, a joint venture between Philips and Agilent.

The company has used LED lighting systems ever since and increasingly on commercial sites, that have only got bigger and more impressive down the years.

This is to be name but a few, with an eye-catching example of their work with a piece of real history taking place at the Troia Cathedral in Italy.

The 12th century building, in the Apulia region, is considered a jewel of Roman architecture had to be carefully maintained.

The cathedral’s facade is of great importance and the owners approached world-renowned architects, who needed innovative lighting schemes to enhance the interior space.

Low output and energy consumption was key to highlight architectural detail, along with the original structure and function.

Careful consideration was needed when lighting the carved wooden crucifix, a symbol of the town’s traditions and festivals.

ACDC and Thorn, who are both from the Zumtobel Group, had to meet criteria for ceremonies and worship where lighting had to match the mood.

A touch screen control system was pre-programmed to meet different needs or functions, with illumination at the heart of the building.

Thorn’s SATIN 2 linear projectors worked alongside the beams with QBA projectors and, in the side aisles. INTEGREX linear fittings provided arched lighting.

The works complimented one of the finest monuments in that part of Italy and it was the best of British that made it happen. That’s what ACDC are good at. endorse ACDC as a company who can meet all of your lighting solutions going forward.
